We all look at this picture and think this is what an Asian-American wise man looks like. In reality we all judge by what we see without knowing the exact truth. According to Hua Wang "The media serve as psychological pressure points that force Asian-American youths to choose between being accepted according to Hollywood standards or being rejected through the development of their own identities".We let the media define how we as human beings should look like, for example the picture on top is the ideal representation of an Asian Wise old Man in Hollywood, because of this misinterpretation we decide to follow what the media portrays them by. In a blog post by Rachel Coker she mentions “ why are all these old chaps the same? Quiet, poetical, always speaking in condensed sentences brimming with wisdom and philosophy” (Go Teen Writers). She has a point reading and watching movies where every wise old mentor is either Asian and always has something to say gets boring. They always try to keep an Asian mentor the same even though the movie is directed by a different director or the book it written by a different writer.

haha So true! In Kung fu Panda or in Ninja turtles they are all presented with gray hair, old, and always have something wise to say!
